Chuck Bennet over at http://gps7socialstudies.pbwiki.com has a number of resources that would be useful to educators that are just starting out with wikis.
In his WikiLearning project there is a section which includes his handouts:
Here are links to a few of them.
- WikiLearning (Introductory handout for parents)
- Permission form (for student's work & picture to be published on the Internet)
- WikiTimeSheet
- CodeSheet (Key for some of the code)
- WikiTextPages (Adding Text Page #'s to a WikiOutline)
- Adding Definitions
- PlagiarismHandout (Napoleon Dynamite teaches about plagiarism and voice)
- Creating Contents Pages
- CleanUp

One reason many teachers avoid group projects is how to effectively grade participation. A wiki keeps a written record of who contributes when and how often, which provides the teacher with valuable information for grading. Another useful site isWiki Resources for Teacherswhich includes handouts helpful to teachers using them in the classroom.
